I accessed TRE during lockdown in 2020, and it really was a great tool to use to calm my nervous system during such a stressful event. I have been training as a counsellor for many years now, I took a year out for personal reasons and used that time to train to be a TRE provider.
During my studies to be a counsellor I was diagnosed with ADHD (the inattentive type) and found TRE to support me when my life became overwhelming. It still supports me to this day.
TRE (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises)
An embodiment practice to practice on your own or in a group.
Designed by Dr David Bercelli – a trained psychologist and expert in Trauma and international conflict resolution.
TRE calms overprotective reflexes and discharges tension; When you learn to connect to your body it’s the first step to heal.
Connects with primitive natural mechanism that moves through the organism, releases, and unwinds chronic tension patterns. By evoking the tremor response, we share with all mammals, helping us to self- regulate and turn down intense reactions in the body.
It’s a path to remember something the body already knows but has forgotten.
TRAUMA-Disrupts the equilibrium of our bodies. Tremors reorganises the differentiated body parts that have moved from harmony to inflexibility.
We all hold the innate ability to overcome trauma.
